Peter Stabell

  • Commercial and legal energy and infrastructure expert with extensive experience from the energy sector.
  • Former attorney-at-law from one of the largest and most international law firms in Denmark. Experience gained from commercial and legal executive positions in OEMs and project developers within the wind industry.
  • Experience from start-ups as well as large international corporations. Strong background within wind energy, but also with a background within upstream and downstream oil & gas.
  • Strong management and project management skills.

Managing Director; wpd offshore Denmark A/S, and Vice President; wpd offshore North America LLC

Responsible for the development and execution of business strategy for market entry for Danish and US branch of wpd offshore.

Project Director for wpd HOFOR Danish Offshore Consortium and managed all aspects of its 2016 participation in the Danish Nearshore tender. P/L responsibility for the tender bid and management of multiple country and city project team with 30+ staff members.


2009 – 2013
Vice President, Business Development; Suzlon Energy A/S

Responsible for business and strategy development and execution in emerging markets globally.

Lead commercial and legal negotiator on large EPC Projects (Negotiated 1,500 MW+ of wind turbine sales agreements). Responsible for overall contractual and commercial risk management of complex wind turbine EPC agreements.

Member of Management Team.


2007 – 2009
Head of Company Secretariat, Real Estate, and Commercial Contracts, Group Legal; Ørsted A/S

Responsible for legal advice and legal contract management for Group Procurement, Oil & Gas. Responsible for the legal management of the group’s approx. 160 subsidiaries and approx. 800 real properties in Northern Europe. Advisor to Group Insurance in terms of Risk Management and Risk Evaluations.


2005 – 2007

Responsible for creating and building a new Legal Department in a green field telecommunication company. In charge of group risk management, strategic business development advisor to the CEO and secretary of the Board of Directors.

Attorney-at-Law; GORRISSEN FEDERSPIEL Law Firm

Attorney-at-law from one of the largest and most international law firms in Denmark. Worked with company law, venture investments, commercial contracts, tax and real estate.
